How they work
Floxtop reads files with on-device AI, including the spoken content of audio and video, and suggests which of your folders each belongs in. Smart Rename proposes descriptive names. Everything stays offline.
Lisorto proposes a Space and a clear name for each file, then keeps the folder tidy with AutoPilot. What it reads also feeds a menu-bar search, so you can find any file later by a word inside it, scans included.
Pick Floxtop if…
- you sort audio and video by what is said in them;
- you work in one of its 50 languages beyond what Apple Intelligence covers;
- you organize files on external drives or network shares;
- the lowest one-time price matters most.
Pick Lisorto if…
- your Mac has an Intel chip or runs macOS 14;
- you want to find files later by any word inside them;
- you want new files sorted automatically as they land;
- you also want Free up space and a full History with Undo.
Switching from Floxtop, or using both
- Both apps can run on different folders side by side.
- Lisorto never deletes or overwrites, so trying it on a folder Floxtop already sorted is safe.
What Lisorto never does
- It never deletes a file. Duplicates are set aside, not removed; Free up space moves things to the Trash only when you pick them.
- It never overwrites a file. If a name is taken, that file stays where it is.
- It doesn’t upload your files. Cloud AI is optional, off by default, and sends only a short excerpt of an unclear document.
