FREE TOOL

Compress images without uploading them

Make JPG, PNG, and WebP images smaller for email, the web, or a form with a size limit. Pick a quality and, if you like, a smaller size, then download each image or all of them as one ZIP.

Your files never leave this browser: the tool runs on your device, and nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Drop your images, or click to choose them. Several at once is fine.
  2. Pick a format: JPG works everywhere; WebP is usually the smallest; or keep each file’s own format.
  3. Move the quality slider. 75% is a good start: smaller files with no difference you can see.
  4. If the images are large photos, set a longest side such as 2560 px; most screens and emails don’t need more.
  5. Download each image, or all of them as one ZIP. An image that can’t get smaller stays as it was.

FAQ

Questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. The images are read and compressed by your browser on your device; nothing is sent to any server.

Which formats can I compress?

JPG, PNG, and WebP in every modern browser. HEIC photos from an iPhone open only in Safari; in other browsers, convert them to JPG first.

Why is my PNG not smaller?

PNG is lossless, so saving it again as PNG rarely shrinks it. Choose JPG or WebP to make it much smaller; transparent areas become white in JPG.

Does it remove photo metadata?

Yes. Re-encoding drops EXIF data such as the camera and location, which also makes the file a little smaller.
