Convert HEIC to JPG on your Mac, many at once

iPhone photos are HEIC files, which many websites, forms, and Windows PCs don’t open. Turn them into JPG (or PNG) here: several at once, with nothing uploaded.

Your files never leave this browser: the tool runs on your device, and nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Drop your .heic photos, or click to choose them. Several at once is fine.
  2. Keep JPG at 90% quality for photos that look the same and open everywhere, or pick PNG for a lossless copy.
  3. Safari converts them on its own. In other browsers the page loads a HEIC decoder (about 770 KB) the first time.
  4. Download each photo, or all of them as one ZIP. The original HEIC files stay as they are.
  5. On a Mac you can also convert in Preview: open the photo, choose File › Export, and pick JPEG.

FAQ

Questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photos are converted by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Does it keep the quality?

At 90% JPG quality the photos look the same; PNG is lossless but larger. Live Photo motion and depth data are not kept, as in any JPG.

Does it keep the photo’s date and location?

No. Like a screenshot, the converted file has no camera metadata (EXIF), which also removes the location.

Why does it load a decoder?

Only Safari reads HEIC by itself. In Chrome, Firefox, or Edge the page loads libheif, an open-source HEIC decoder, to read the photo in your browser.
